Will you go and check that the candidate can actually do what their CV says?? If I get someone out and they are not up to what they say , then they will cost me money, and I would look to you for compensation.

spot on,dont think this idea gonna catch on

I think in the early days CV only wont be effective and those applying will need to be sponsored/references. I would take it that if this service works those employing the reqiured staff will report back.

The basic principle of this idea is that a company will come to us because we have a reputation for supplying good quality, capable, work-fit, experienced staff. A set of certificates alone will not be enough, referencing and work history is vital. This is new, if you want to give any input I'm happy to accept it.

So if this is the criteria so to speak, arn't you singling out the newbies ?? So people like pault who commented on here won't get a chance.

surley sum sort of staff pool would be good ,so firms can check who,s local to them ,for short term employ/ trainees etc ,as most of us put threads up looking for staff wether it f/t or making nmbers up :001_smile:

It would make more sense to me for there to be a section on arbtalk which is a database for freelance climbers etc. I'd happily pay to register on the database, anyone who used me from the database could leave a review for others to see, it could be sorted into regions, freelancers could list any kit available to them etc. Just a thought!

Personally, i dont like the idea of Agency's taking over the freelance side of our industry.

I think its a great plan, i hope it goes well if i was in the uk i deff use you. There is a guy over here in jersey who runs a company called Grafters who has done EXTREAMLY well. Have you considerd supplying labour to gardeners and landscapers as well, it might bring in a bit more revenue? The guy who runs Grafters operates on a if they are no good send them back and we will send you another type policy. I have heard of a arb type agency befor i will try and find out who is was if it worked ect.
