  1. The pump itself is definately attached to the engine and has only hoses off it. No belts
  2. so the pump has a spindle rather than a belt drive?

I've had this since new, it was bought for a contract which no-longer requires it. Mileage is only 8,072 miles. The tipper conversion to an Arb / chip box was done when I got it but didn't get round to putting the storage box on. I can source and fit one if you wish. When I looked last year they were around £1000 depending on the specification, I won't charge anything for fitting it, you can select a spec and pay accordingly. There is slight scuff to the plastic front bumper which could be covered up easily and is shown on a photo. Heavy duty tow bar and electrics fitted. Price is plus VAT, company reciept will be provided.

24 METER CABSTAR PALFINGER 240AXE 2016 plate 54,340 miles In regular use, always been LOLER'd and is up to date, as are daily checks and servicing. Very compact size and only selling because it's time for a new one, currently struggling to find such a nice short wheelbase with the same reach! We can arrange delivery if needs be, we'd just ask for payment in advance and money to cover our train fair back or a second vehicle/driver covered. Price is +VAT, company receipt provided.

  5. Hi everyone, My A540T lost hydraulic drive, it had been running fine then just stopped all hydraulic function. The rollers still go around very slowly, the track motors move but don't rotate (even witht the tracks removed) We checked the filter, which is clear, oil is a little grey but looks as it should, no filings in the filter housing. So, I expect it's the pump gone. But, when I do a part search from the manual it says the pump is belt driven, it's mounted to the engine so unless there's an internal belt, which seems unlikely. So, anyone know the part number for a hydraulic pump to fit? Or better still, a quick and cheaper fix that I've not thought of! Thanks, Tristan.
  6. 3rd photo is from inside the cover, so I guess that's a plain shaft? What's an over-run clutch?

  8. Hi guys, I need to change the belts on a Jensen A328 PTO chipper, sounds easy I know, but how on earth do you get the pto shaft off the chipper in order for me to then remove the triangle plate which exposes the belts? Admittedly this is my first pto machine so I am a novice but I'm not daft and nor are my guys, we spent a morning feeling for release pins, clips, buttons, screws, a hidden chipper fairy who needed to be bribed! No luck. Help us out if you can.... Tristan.
  9. Thanks guys, I suggested ring-barking but the order is to stem inject, no explanation as to ehy yet. I will find out. I thought about eco-plugs but wasn't sure they'd work.
  10. Evening all, I've been asked to stem inject a row of about 40 Spruce treeson an NRW site we're on. Whilst I've stem injected Japanese Knotweed and have the kit, I've not done trees before. Can anyone shed any light n whether there's a better technique than drilling a hole and filling it with Glyphosate.
  11. gm valmet, thanks for that, but I'm an hour or so way from that job so not too easy to pop over and say hi. I will if I end up over that way though.
  12. Hi all, I'm looking to hire a tractor with timber winch and trailer for a job near llanidloes. The job is to fell and extract around 70 large Douglas/Spruce from a private site. I need to get the timber up to the roadside but don't have the necessary kit. We're also looking for a buyer for the timber too. Email: [email protected]
  13. Hi, Can you explain to a non mechanic how your RB tweaks went? I have one and it's so slow uphill when loaded. Seems to be a big difference between 2nd and 3rd gear so when you need to change down you can't until you've lost most of your engine revs. My tyres are 225/100/R16, Tristan.
  14. As a little update, I based my price on a combination of measured plot counts and averagin, I got the contract and started last week, here's hoping my guestimation was alright!
  15. I looked at this thread earlier, after spending two hours trying (with little joy)to get the old triangle bearing off! I'd got it to the point of no return after hammering the ring off, but couldn't get the triangle off. With no time for visits to engineers etc and needing it up and running tomorrow morning I decided upon a more drastic, and I can now say succeful approach. Behold the wonders of the Angle Grinder! An hour later and the new one's on, tested and hands partially washed!
  16. Thanks everyone for all your replies, we're looking at a little over 30ha for this site.
  17. Like I say, most are less than 15' tall so single cut, push over and move onto the next. I'm really trying to guage what sort of area can be covered in a day.
  18. Thanks guys, It's not on Mull. Spec is to drop and leave anything under 15', anything over 15' brash to chest height and ring-bark. Broadleaves left standing. Most is under or close to 15'. Some areas are very sparse others busy, it'll average out. I don't think theres an expectation of us to be pulling up tiny stuff but that's a question I'll be asking.
  19. Morning all, here's a little question for you: I've been asked to quote for some upland regen. clearance. We mainly do climbing work so this is a bit outside my comfort zone pricing wise. The trees are spread out, all less than 15' high (the few that are more are to be brashed and ring-barked) some areas busy, whilst some there's nothing. All broadleafs are to be left. Now I know without seeing the site any answers are at best pretty vague, but if I have a few answers and I consider them along with the site visit I did yesterday that will give me a better idea than had I not asked. So, how many square meters do you think each chainsaw operator could do in a day? The ground is hard going upland boggy / heathery/ tufty grasses and bracen etc. Trees under 15' fell and leave, trees over 15' brash and ring-bark. Thank T.
  20. peatff, RB has a ratchet habdbrake yes. Vacume dial sits at about 80-90% whilst driving
  21. When the mechanic arrived, he found the breaks to be fine, I've had a drive too and the breaks are no longer stuck on, the mechanic is confused, I'm relieved but equally worried this could happen whilst driving along! Any further suggestions welcomed.
  22. Always worth a quick ask incase someone knows a quick fix. The mechanic's not available until monday but is booked, I'll update when I know the reason. Thanks for the responses.
