Female tree surgeons

Hmmmm not sure whether to take some of the sexist comments on this thread with a grain of salt or not. For the record I've worked with, or had work for me, several female arborists (including Chrissie Spence, look her up) and all of them have put several of the guys to shame. Fine, some of them are built like a tank but several others are the opposite end of the scale and I wouldn't have a bad word said about any of them. Some left the industry because of repeat and overly sexist comments which is a great shame. Others have stuck a couple of fingers up to the idiots who think it's a man's game and just taken the head down arse up attitude until their point was proven.

I also worked with a guy who was nicknamed Yeti too

I know of 1, and she's useless. I think if there is to be good female arborists, which I'm sure there may be some, they'd be proper yeti looking so it wouldnt be very pleasurable working with one. Ha!

and this;

(Quote Harrison)I'm very into the looks of my women my friend... OH HO HO

Could be seen as sexist/offensive,in my opinion,we all like a bit of banter, but these quotes appear to be rather obsessive of a persons looks, made me feel a bit edgy.

I am sure they were an atempt at humor......:confused1:

One thing me and a mate brought up in the pub the other day (and I know it's really random) was japanese arborists...? do they have arborists over there? I just can't get that image in my head.

not meant to be racist in any way, if you're a japanese arborist, and you take offence... im sorry. :|

I know one.

Aggressive. Competitive. Butch. Opinionated. Lesbian.

& Rubbish :D

Other than the lesbian bit, you have just described a large number of MALE arborists.

See some of the above :001_rolleyes:

Hey, woah woah there. This has got a little out of hand!

My comments were in no way meant to be serious and come across sexist or anything such like.

I have nothing against women working as arborists at all :thumbup1:

I think, because the job of an Arborist comes across to be a very manly, dangerous and hard grafting job, so you don't see many women in the industry and thats true... because the majority of women are not into this kind of thing?

But, you should never underestimate a woman, and I'm sure there are great female arborists out there... I don't know of any but I'd love to!

The lady I was referring to in my first comment as being 'useless'... she's not useless, shes much more flexable, light and limber than many of us and shes faster than a blinkin squirrel!

Don't take offense to anything I've said, I was purely messing around and being a bit sarcastic. I apologise to you all!
