Chain saw PPE

Well I visited the FR Jones emporium today and came back with a significantly lighter credit card.

In the end I went for Haix Protector Pros and a pair of Stein Revolution trousers. Slightly undewhelmed at the £45 surcharge on the large boots, but at least I've got some that fit!

Thanks for the help and advice.

John

Why type C trousers for the assessment. I'm struggling to find the paperwork that demands that. Are there assessors on here that can confirm that C is the legal requirement for the assessment??

Ta.

Just about to send off my request for assessment and wondering if Jonesie is about to get more money from me!

I'm not sure if it's actually a requirement or just a recommendation. Several people have stated it to me as fact, but I haven't seen anything authoritative.

I decided to get type C anyway as my first pair as I'm a complete novice. If I haven't chopped the back out of them before they wear out I may choose type A next time round!

I use Arbortech chainsaw gloves with little gel AV pads in and they're very comfy and quite warm. Hard wearing i'm yet to tell. The timberland ones i had for 3 week and wrecked.
