Dead ash tinder, newspaper and half a litre of red. Butt ends into wind and jobs a good un. If your having several fires over a short period, take a shovel and move some of the coals from the previous fire.

Take some nice dry timber with you and fire lighters. Light the fire and then add the brash to the fire once its burning well and us the blower once its got going. When adding the brash "whip it" onto the fire so there are no gaps.

We lattice pine kindling so the paper is off the floor then put very fine twigs (elm and hazel works very well as does beech). Only put a glug or two of diesel as the diesel can saturate the paper and you cant light diesel very well. And have a few heaps of gradually bigger bits so when the fire gets goin you start adding and within an hour or so you should have a raging fire. It works for me anyway.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
