A snapping Chain

Not a nice thought, but has this ever happened to anyone?

Never happened or been near it happening yet, touch wood!

 

I remember hearing scare stories when i was a kid, about people who had had their faces split open :scared1:

but never actually met anyone who has had this happen to em.

I'm fairly sure a chain snapping is a fairly tame ordeal. The lead chain-catcher under the sprocket literally bends and grabs the chain while the rest flings underneath the saw (may hit you in the leg but with chainsaw trousers on I can imagine it would only sting a little. and strikes the plastic bit below the rear handle that some people think is where you put your foot when you start the saw!

 

EDIT: 200t's, now that's a different ball game i'm sure =|
