I had the same thing once after a branch sprung back and hit me in the eye, pretty sore. The gouges are permanent so long as the gouge in your eye ball doesn't go across the pupil its ok, the doc told me that it would be visible (to opticians) all my life. Fortunately not to me!

Scratched my cornea once pulling a poplar branch tip first through a side passage. Sorest thing ever. Couldn't even open the other eye it was that sore. Went to the eye and ear that evening where they put an anaesthitic in it so they could examine it. Thought I was cured. Wore off halfway home. Had to walk the last mile and a half almost blind.

Spent the next 3 days like a blind man, if it wasn't for paramount comedy would've lost my mind.

Hope it gets better soon mate.
