Hilux tipper Ins - £945 to >£4000/year!

Hi,

 

Insurance for my 2018 Hilux single cab with aluminium tipping body is provisionally due to go from £945 to >£4000.

 

Really don't know what's happened here, but was hoping others out there might have recommendations for insurance companies who are not this far off the mark.  I am currently with CVD/Markerstudy.

 

Hope I can get help finding a solution...

It’s a lottery out there mate.

You just need to try a few until you get lucky.

Try NFU, Direct Line and LV for a start.

Adrian Flux can also work sometimes.

Try Admiral Van . They do my truck fairly reasonably ( £235 I seem to remember ) but its not a tipper .

As mentioned Adrian Flux may be worth a try, limit mileage can drop price, also named drivers and over 21 years old. That's if you do that.

Aviva are good for me on the Landy, as above it's a lottery based on some algorithms that noone watches.

 

Unless you've had 17 crashes in the last year of course?

Post code lottery. Having things like drive and garage make a difference.  

 

My insurance is sky high as nobody else around here bothers with it....

Admiral have been good with me, had Axa before but they wouldn’t insure me after 5 years as it was a tree surgeon pickup, never had a claim so not sure what I did 🤣

I've always had good results with business choice direct, albeit only on small panel vans and not tippers
