Felling of a ~160yr old 25m tall Copper Beech Tree - Chiswick, West London

You never know the route out though. Could have been down a spiral staircase along a hallway with two turns then up another spiral staircase and out through a Chemist shop. The owners of which " forgot" to clear two aisles before you arrived and are determined to remain open throughout the job.

" Watch out for my bloody stock items thank you very please".

Mike, I have actually done similar as I am sure you have.  🤣

Rear garden removal.  4 storey town house and everything had to go down a set of stairs through a basement flat.  The guy still had his prized records, framed and hung on the walls.  Tight turns and then up a flight of stairs out to the front.  Then stack in the street.  If you could find a parking space close to the house.

Those were the days eh?

Nice. Maybe the team could have done it in less than 10 days but priced it comfortable to not bust a gut everyday. Imagine the work involved in dicing up the trunk to carry out each piece. Although I'm sure most on here would lift that final section in 2.

Yep, 10 days seems totally possible.

Especially if the drag is really crap (it is really crap as OP confirmed there is no access for skidsteers etc). If you want to keep staff morale up I'd certainly be saying work till whatever time gets you back to the yard for 14:30 if fairly local

Not every job has to be done the fastest, if it's crap price it high, allow the time on it.

Have done this several times and it's so worth it makes a crap job ok

As a total bender, I’m well within my rights not to want to bust my arse (for want of a better phrase) for some millionaire who has put themselves in a situation where they have a huge compromised tree in a garden the size of my bathroom.

In all seriousness, I do get the advantage of going slow on a miserable job (if it is a miserable job - we still don’t know that the drag is bad). But that’s not what’s happened here. If they could have decked it in eight hours, they would have.
