I was chatting to one of the guys in my local chainsaw shop earlier today, he was asking where I get climbing kit and things. They are interested in selling a few arb bits, but neither of them are climbers so don't really know what they'd stock.

What bare bones minimum climbing or rigging kit would you expect or hope to see in a provincial chainsaw shop? Not a huge space to fill... it's probably only a 30m² shopfloor, and most of that's already filled, obviously. I'd bet they only want to fill a single display rack.

Any ideas?

too much range for them to make it profitable if theyre small

best sticking to the smaller accessory stuff like fliplines, carabiners, maybe a rope or two, selection of slings, chainsaw straps, a few of the more popular silky blades?

could take a chance on whatever happens to be the fashionable harness or two.

Eye to eye prussiks, one popular climbing rope, 12mm Sirius, biners, DMM pinto rig, deadeyes, portawraps. Harness litter like those little wedges and the sticks for rolling cookies off. Daunting task. Most of it will sit there for years.

Doughnuts and tea bags .

Ah, here in Ireland, every single petrol station and corner shop has a hot deli counter with sausage rolls, bacon sandwiches, chicken salad baguettes, pastries, tea and coffee... it's a great setup.

We have just such a place 150m from the chainsaw shop.
