M24 is the perfect size to add a couple of gym weights as counterweights on your Skidster. Use the existing holes at the sides on the back.

I don’t recall seeing any holes there but I have a cutting torch that is still novel.

Just spreading a bit of good news. In a world of disappointment as standard, I'm pleased to report that I've found a really useful website for buying nuts, bolts, washers etc. Nice drawings, sizes of everything etc. Easy visual browsing for finding something slightly unusual for a particular purpose. Good paperwork and packaging and sent DPD next day (one of the least awful couriers in my experience).

As a B side to this thread, since I'm on the topic, what's the best way of taking the nyloc insert out of a nyloc nut so you have a plain nut? I just burned one out with a map gas torch but that's a bit of a dirty way to do it. It wouldn't easily pop out with a screwdriver. Just chipped bits off it.

Re the nyloc nut . Just put a tap through . Preferably the plug tap as its the full thread .

A lathe is the best option. Buy a lathe.

Second best option is grind it off with a 40 grit flap disc.

3rd best is if your welding the nut anyway, welding heat will have it fall out.

What are you needing m24 size nuts for?

Are you sure that'll work though? I've a feeling that the nylon would be too soft to remove sufficient of it to allow the bolt  to run freely in the nut thread.

He's not saying to remove it, once you've cut a thread into it and undone it.

The locking effect of the nylon is in effect used up and just becomes a nut.
