Haha, yeah, all good here, a lot of damage all over the place but we escaped quite lightly. 

 

Just doing a walk-around to assess the damage outside the house earlier, a few little trees down, nothing major... but then I saw our electric pylon leaning a good few degrees off vertical, and a stocky little goat willow fallen on the cable stay, with the top of the pylon swaying with each gust of wind...

800,000 homes in Ireland without power at time of writing, and I just about managed to stop it being 800,001 with a bit of careful snipping, then predictably enough the goat willow sat back down again once about 80% of the weight was gone.

took me 10 minutes to get off my drive this morning it was like a motorway it became obvious when i got to the main road tree down across the road, by the time I got back it had all been cleared everything gone apart from the stump and a small pile of chip. well done to whoever did the job

Came back around ten to bin the day and do my tax return, just thought I’d nip up the hill behind the photo and bring down two lambs, me and Lauren then watched bits of the ridge disappear then the whole lot lift up, break in two and drop down again … then bits of green house start lifting off and up the hill and yard ..amazingly barely any trees on the drive blew though.
