The manufacturing takes place abroad Conor, so there is no environmental impact on us.

You idiot.

Why not perform processes that are polluting to earth in space? We could rig up some kind of haul line that pulls stuff up like how the tides are powered.

NB Have been drinking but someone has to think the big thoughts.

You're right, how foolish of me. Now i see the solution. tax those kids in those lithium mines. They're the real culprits.

Renault as an example can recycle all their batteries - not sure to the extent though but that's the way to go.

Which to be honest, at the worst case estimation 15p / mile and take off the approximated 6p / mile petrol duty, 20,000 miles would give an extra bill of about £200... In the grand scheme of things, not a lot. Zero rate the car tax and that drops to maybe £100? Drive only a few hundred miles  year and you'll be better off

That 15p is the worst case, there are a whole range of costs quoted from 1p up to 15p

Explain these figures again SP

Seem its being introduced  already for trucks in  various countries etc and in NZ for cars.

The "Road user Charges" as they are known in New Zealand is a way that the government can differentiate between on and off road diesel use. Instead of Red and White Diesel ,its all taxed the same with the exception of road users that have to pay a surcharge per mile.

You buy your milage allowance and then talk to a bloke who disables your odometer.Alledgedly.

Anyone who thinks electric cars are the way forward is deluded beyond belief.

As in so deluded they can’t understand reasonable arguments.

The way forward you say? Hear me out.

I think they have their place,

example being as a "pay as you go" city car that can be charged or partially discharged in multiple places, essentially, you create a hive of batteries that can help level out the grid, store and release energy, distribute people and goods and act as temporary personal power sources.

This can obviously only work in a newly designed and purpose built, self sustaining city, no amount of retrofitting will shoehorn such an idea into fully functional existence In any existing population centre.

It would be environmentally disastrous to even try.

Something like a massive war would help erase these pesky, historic places and the people who wish to remain in them. wars seem to be carbon tax exempt too, as well as not requiring an environmental impact survey, so no worries there.

Then the path is paved for a full, new, shiny smart city. One with a big ****************ing fence around it.

then, and only then will the rise of the electric vehicle truly be able to complete itself (they'll be full ai by then and we will work for them)

So yeah, if you drive a battery car you support genocide and slavery.
