Eucalyptus tree..what to do?

I have a costumer who needs something done with a 40ft eucalyptus tree.

 

The tree is close to property and is growing from base into 4 stems. the stems are all leaning outwards. the client really wants to keep the tree but will remove it if it needs to be done.

 

I was thinking about bracing the tree ( all 4 stems together ) but i don't think this will be a long term solution.

 

Also the tree is also next to a 15ft retaining wall and i know that eucalyptus roots are invasive.

 

how do eucalyptus trees take to pruning? pollarding?

Is it worth saving or just remove it ?

I'm afraid it's probably a removal job. Roots are super invasive, a buildings inspector once told a client of mine that if they took out a gum tree that was about 20m away, then they wouldn't have to sink the foundations more than the normal.

Remove it, it has multi stems so will probable be weak at the base and even if you pollard it it will grow back super quick, and its agains a wall so get rip.

Now i just have to convince costumer that i do prefer to preserve trees but this one needs to go.
