When we were kids if you displayed a some of the autistic, ADHD, etc, behaviours you would get the belt or the back of someones hand. Kids soon learn to adapt and fit in, to avoid pain. Not saying it was in any way a good thing.

We live in a much more caring tolerant world today, this allows people to live less conservative, confirmative lives. We see this everywhere in so many ways. Children with SEN is just one of them. IMO

The doctor who calmed a link between the MMR jab and autism was making money from the single jabs so wanted the MMR discredited.

Yes, true, that is why so many autistic people did not get diagnosed as a child and hence had ruined lives until such times as they got diagnosed as adult, USUALLY whilst being investigated for some other condition as 80% of autistic people have a co-morbid mental heath condition too. [which usually gets ignored] They also have a very high suicide rate [hardly surprising] and a lot of autistic kids would have killed themselves as a result.of the treatment you have described.

As for the MMR. Yep, 100% correct.

I wonder if Australia is more left handed, just thinking of all those prisoners we sent were actually just lefties deported to an island where the water flows down the sink that's in tune with there spac handedness.

History is full of people who many consider to be or have been somewhere on the autism spectrum. Like the 30 famous...

It is not necessarily a bad thing to be different mentally to others. Given the right guidance, as the link suggests, can be very successful. Many very successful people would also be diagnosed as psychopaths (just not criminally minded), I think Richard Branson is one - and am not going to US politics, but he is too.

Indeed. Though I'd argue that autistic folk do more good, (and far less bad), in the world than the psychopaths and narcissists.

Apparently narcissism is increasing, which seems more plausible than the rate of autism increasing. Of maybe our current culture of social media and celebrity just gives it more opportunity to be seen. Another interesting rabbit hole, unrelated to Measles.

Maybe the narcissism is more learnt from these media whores on social media.

Gemma Collins & Joey Essex perfect examples, in the 60/70s they'd probably have been institutionalised for their own safety.
