poachers Problems with Trespassers, Fly tippers & Poachers?

Thought It might be an Idea to set up a Sub Forum Where woodland owners can discuss the Problems they have with unwelcome people like, Trespassers, Fly tippers & Poachers.

I expect there are many Woodland owners & Small woodland owners who get these sorts of people on there land.

It would also be a way where Woodland owners can discuss how to deal with these sorts of Problems.

Unnecessary and dangerous. The internet already endures SWOG. It may start off with innocent security questions but before long will be pages of dross about allotment-neighbours' anti-social leaves and punting wild birthing venue hire and Wim Hof afternoons.

Not sure there are enough woodland owners here to have a whole section. A thread in the woodland management section might be useful.

 

I'll add illegal fox hunting, trespassing game shooters to the list and the worst of all the local council damaging trees whilst fly tipping on private land.

illegal hunting definitely a problem in many woods, where some people think they have the right to trespass in woodland to do hunting which would be Poaching!

 

What these people (idiots) fail to realise is that many Woodland owners own the Sporting rights to the woodland they own and are the only ones that Legally have the right to hunt within that woodland.

 

With many Small woodlands a Forest could be owned by many Multiple owners each who have there own sporting rights in there own section.

 

So for someone who decides to go hunting in the woods without permition, could be entering property owned by multiple owners and would legally be require to get Permition from each of the land owners before wandering around willy nilly firing a shot gun. Entering illegally would be classed as Armed Trespass,Poaching,wildlife crime & Aggravated trespass. Even if they had permition from one or two of the multiple woodland owners they would only be legally allowed to shoot in the areas of the woodland they had permition to use..

 

Also illegal hunting/poaching could be a danger to woodland owners and there family. Especially if the hunter is just wandering around shooting.

In our wood I have a Shooting Range for my personal uses for Air Rifle Practice with a Safety Backstop This is for Target shooting & pest control practice, as we have a Grey Squirrel Problem. We also have BASC insurance to use Air Rifles & Pistols at our wood. We also have warning signs at our woodland letting people know we shoot at our range.

 

People Poaching more than likely do not have any insurance, Do not care about public safety and wildlife. 

 

Unfortunately we have seen evidence of poaching taking place in the woodland but unable to catch who they are as we don't live near our woodland and can not be there 24/7 as have to travel some distance to visit our wood. 

The Poaching that happens is being done by more than likely someone locally in the area.We also believe they could also be responsible for some minor fly tipping at the wood.

BASC isn't even worth the paper it's written on, an organisation that's long past it's prime and working against the people it's supposed to support.

 

Plus never advertise the fact with signage, at worst put no trespass.
