Get some with good leather cream/dubbing then put it on them and it will sort them out. I got a cheap pair and put the dubbing on and they were great in the after application

You're right, that does work, cheers. I've spent ages putting on leather cream, Dubbin, Mink Oil! in the past. It does stop the water, but only for a limited time in my experience.

I'm too lazy to put it on frequently now so looking for a pair of boots with a waterproof lining/membrane.

I tried some Waterproof gortex lined   boots but hated them them as found them to hot  and sweaty.

Feet drenched in sweat due to the gortex felt worse  than feet wet from outside.

So back to dubbin or wet feet  & if they when get wet  from sweat or wet  fr0m outside alternate the boots worn  everyday and  put the spare pair on the electric boot drier.

Ah, the old waterproof jacket dilemma - you either get wet from outside or wet from inside! I hoped that might not be the case with rigger boots.

My chainsaw boots seem to be ideal in that respect, completely waterproof even wearing all day on wet ground, but not very hot and sweaty inside. Not an expensive make, Elten I think.

Rigger boots are just pure evil. Everyone I know that likes them has buggered ankles and they’re worse than wellies for being uncomfortable in my opinion! I just live in saw boots or wellies if I absolutely have to for a few hours!

You need 2 things in life good boots and a good bed - if your not in one you’re in the other!

Recommendations please anyone? Ta

I've had several pairs over the years but non have ever been truly waterproof, more like shower proof; water always seems to soak in, leading to damp to wet feet after a few hours in the rain.

No such thing 42, get some moleskin socks or if the grounds soaking wear wellies 🤷‍♂️
