Rodents hooked on petrol!

My Combi can has had the neck chewed covering the saw and my feet with petrol before I spotted it

 

also the can itself, they went for the yellow cap and completely destroyed the tab that stops you losing it

Is it the plastic they love or do they vape on the petrol fumes???!

They're just little Bstrds! Though I think a lot of the senseless chewing is down to teeth sharpening.

We have had the same with Squirrels one completely chewed through a green 5 ltr petrol container

Had some go through a couple of primer bulbs - lawn mower and saw and assumed the same, that they quite liked it - if they didn't they wouldn't have gone after the other one. Currently they were working their way through a box of night lights n the shed, paraffin wax and petrol, must be something in it.

I was lucky that the rats that built a nest in the 461 van, totally ate the big heavy rubber grommet that goes through the bulkhead/firewall, but did not touch the PVC insulated cables that ran through it.

I've had lid of 5l petrol can chewed, they've just gone through fuel cap on mower, and I've also had them chew through a rubber hose on a saw can't remember if it was fuel or chain oil but a blighter to change.  One bit off a bit more than it could chew with my brothers bottle of chain oil... chewed right through the cap and he found the culprit dead floating in the oil!

Do seem to have a thing for caps it seems!?

Primer bulbs are a favourite for rats..

Had a 25 litre of mineral chain oil that they were addicted to, there was oily rat crap everywhere so they obviously enjoyed it 🥴

That's so insane! I can't believe rodents were hooked on petrol. It's gotta be the fumes – they must get a little high when they sniff it.

I've had my Aspen Bio chain oil chewed before.
