Did I kill this tree

Just been to price felling an Eucalyptus that I have reduced twice but unfortunately this time it seems to have died. 

 

The work was carried in November to the same points as pervious. 

 

I'm looking for feedback to whether its my fault for what ever reason and if so could price accordingly for the fell and grind.

Who knows? Eucs are native to the other side of the world, so not surprising if they turn up their toes over winter. 
looks like a reasonable reduction. Don’t give them a discount on the fell and grind!

You might have done, eucs are usually quite tolerant of  a prune though and the grass looks like it's been well fed with nutrients, perhaps they've contributed to its decline. As said above, you've tried to manage a large tree in a small spot and it didn't work, charge full whack for removal.

I've heard of several that didn't like this winter, my theory being early flush of warm then late snows. Like Mick said, not adapted.

Just a part of me that feels guilty but will change the going rate. 

 

He's going to replant but not sure what yet. 

 

I was thinking a Sorbus as might be more suitable to size of garden.

I’ve also noticed a few have died over this winter, including one largish one that’s never been touched so wouldn’t feel too bad

Sizewise good but seem a bit fragile to me, maybe search the small tree question threads as well as this must have been asked before.

A rowan would work, a Liquidambar would look good there too.
