If I earn 50k plus then pay 40% tax and then national insurance on top so 50-51% and then as a sole trader a payment on account in the middle of the year..... 

 

Going ltd doesn't look as good anymore.... your 2k a year tax free dividend is halved to 1000 next year and 500 the year after..... 

 

Capital gains.... from stocks etc will now be taxed.... 

 

You buy a house, do it up and sell it on..... after April next year your ctg allowance drops from 12300 pa to 6000 pa then to 3k pa..... 

 

Where is the incentive to bray on and get forwards?

 

I do wonder how safe pensions are considering the recent f up they made.... 

 

I'm 33 years old and think they've got us cornered.

I’ve no time for the ridiculous “ tax the rich “ many of whom are not rich at all in reality” and give to the poor  socialist crap. Give people an incentive to work and they will, penalise them for ambition and success and the outcome is so so predictable.

Fair dos. I'm not advocating it. I'm just saying that's what the consequences of the tory budget will mean. I could be wrong though.

 

Oh, and it's not rich people in terms of income, it's the assets of the wealthy - they're not the same. Not all rich people are wealthy, but all wealthy people are rich. @Squaredy gave a good alternative tax system back along that would make the same distinction.

First 12k tax free and everyone without fail 25% after that no exceptions or excuses. Simples 👍. Huge incentive to work and try and get on. 
OK I know will never happen, mainly due to the outrage of the idle.

You keep going on about outrage of the idle, yet your mate claims to only work 100 days a year, and have a sideline. Most folk work 232 days a year, are these the idle you speak of? Or does it make a difference if you are an high end earner?

Ok please point out to me where I have  kept going on about or indeed used that phrase before or even mentioned an alternative taxation formula ??. 
Andy is a grown man, what he does is his business not mine. 
Those whom do not want to sacrifice time, money and energy educating or training themselves up or working away from home, offshore or overseas etc for long periods are often as not the most vociferous in regards wanting the so called rich taxed heavily. I stand by what I say in as much  as a flat rate for all would incentives people far more than the current shit set up. 
An example of the total bollocks we have to contend with is if you are a grossly overweight bone idle bugger or a junkie and apparently can’t work the state will pay you to sit at home, on the other hand graft like hell and consequently hit the figure conjured up to fleece the majority in the middle and the state will stick its hand out for at least 50% of your wage. 
Regarding the 232 days I can assure you I work a lot more than that year in year our.
