I am probably like you and a lot of the older generation who only will try to save up to buy equipment rather than having a lifetime of debt to repay.  From the look of his equipment, there may be several lifetimes to repay!

I've seen a few of his videos, awesome kit but I can't see domestic tree work in the UK being able to pay for that equipment

Depends what he’s charging.

250k for one of those Merlos? You’ll never save that, or if you did you’d be 70 years old.

Borrow the money, charge appropriately, pay it off or sell it later on.

So borrow the money how much would you need ?

1 merlo.       £250.000

2 lorry.         £65.0000

3 avant or similar. £35.000

4 chipper    £40.000

5 truck for chips. £20.000

your not getting much change from 1/2 million

so 500.000 for 5years = £2000.00 per week plus interest etc

so if you could get £2/3000 per day 5 days a week might be possible

I think it would be easy to take down £2k worth of trees a day with that rig, problem must be finding enough trees. People with rows of poplar or massive leylandii where you just couldn't do the job in any sensible time with a transit and chipper.
