Used oil drums

What do people do with their used chain oil drums?

Cut them up and bin them. Kept a few for diesel over the years but now buy a 200 ltr barrel as needed. Cheaper and tidier in the long run.

Don’t the tip/recycling centre take them? They do here.

They do here if they think it's not commercial waste, so strictly if you're home cutting your own firewood it's fine but as a business you can't. They've recently clamped down tight on the commercial waste thing here, which seems ironic because the harder it is to get in the recycling centre the more rubbish gets dumped in the fens.

You can cut the side off and use them for storage. Lying flat, with the handle pointing out they make decent big drawers to put on shelves. Aspen containers for little drawers.

And a couple bits of rope and they make a great tool tote, they're tough as old boots

Whilst moving a few empty oil containers today-

I had this image in my head of the local boy scouts sat round a pile of smouldering molten plastic, singing ging gang goolie whilst getting high off the fumes, like the neds do with wheelie bins
