I’ve used rotatech chains for a while, only issue I’ve had was one where a tooth was on back to front - I just filed it down. Yes there has been a bit of stretch, but I would say no more than any other chain. I’ve not had any issues in sharpening them. I’ll continue to buy them

both tensioner and oiler are fine as when i swapped back to the h25 it never happend again leading to ultra poor chain and i wasnt going to try the other one for risk of damaging either myself or my nice saw .

nope never give it the caveman as i always let the saw do the work never force something that can bite you back .

I bought 3 loops of 14" semi chisel for my ms180 for the price of one Stihl chain.  They were fine. One was slightly aggressive on first use, such that it managed to jam itself in some ash I was cutting so hard that I had to take the bar off the saw to free it with a good yank. One had some rakers so hard my Stihl file just skated over it. All 3 had quite a bit of stretch initially but Oregon and husky do for me too, and it soon slows down.  They cut fine and lasted pretty well.

Would I buy again? Yes, although the stories of snapped chains puts me off them on bigger saws.  I've also seen husqvarna on sale at about the same price before so snap those up if seen.  Iirc it was fr Jones with 20" loops of full chisel for my 365 at something like a tenner.  I guess that is not the usual though.

 

When looking for 15" full chisel 0.325 for my dolmakita 4300 I ended up buying. A husky or Oregon for....err... Not sure...15 quid maybe.  I think that was  because I couldn't find the right chain from rotatec at the time..  possibly they were out our possibly I just couldn't find it... Can't quite remember.  I'd put a rotatec on it if I could get one cheap, but probably only if under a tenner as Oregon/husky pop up for not much more occasionally it seems.

Absolute garbage

I bought a load of them for a few different saws.
They went in the large box in the van that’s full of new chains. Some sat their for several months until needed.
When needed got one out and it was made too short. Tried the rest on various saws and 3 or 4 more were too short. Ended up breaking them and lengthened them.

Useless company all round. Lost chipper blades sent off for sharpening is another speciality of theirs too.

I just buy my specialist chains for milling and skip tooth’s etc from Rob D on here and buy Oregon chains from honey bros for the rest.
The Oregon power cut and x cut which I believe they make for husqvarna are nice chains.

I have used a few Rotatech chains. I would be happy to continue using them on small saws for snedding stuff to go through the chipper, but I would not use them on an MS 261 or anything larger. I have never had a Stihl chain break on any saw, all the way up to MS880. When I started out over 20 years ago I had Sabre chains snap. I never had a chain snap again once I only used Stihl. Then I tried Rotatech, can't recall if it was on the 261 or 462, but a chain snapped, with only a small bit of metal in the timber. I just stick with Stihl chains, now but I do agree with previous comments about "if it works for you".

Weird, snapped a few Stihl chains on a 084 yet to snap a rotatech chain on the 5 I’ve used on 18” and 13” bars.

Hopefully more have negotiable experiences with them so I keep getting them for 1/3rd of the price.
