Walker killed by cattle....

Other people then started to use it and I put up signs saying “Private Land, Permissive Footpath “ but this was not enough and some knob in the village has challenged me that because it has been continuously used for over ten years it is now a public footpath.

My neighbour has a sign in his porch that reads "Dogs welcome, people tolerated". Likewise, the more people I meet, the more I like my dog, oh and the neighbour's goat and alpacas.

U simply cannot shoot a dog for looking at sheep in a field, that is a fact.

The abject lack of awareness, coupled with an overt willingness to publicly state an intent (and or history) of unlawful activity in relation to potential firearms offences is absolutely staggering.

If ever there were a call for tighter firearms regulations, posts like that which claim to have repeatedly / routinely misused firearms is the golden ticket.

Yes, of course irresponsible dog ownership is a significant problem which needs to be addressed - but such ignorance is frankly staggering.

How the thread has even morphed from the prosecution (yes prosecution - it has already been subject to judgement despite the obvious disagreement from some posters here) for H&S failings to somebody claiming to, and advocating, the shooting of dogs - for me - just about typifies the ever growing delta between the agricultural sector and society.

If he really has shot that many dogs he’s lucky to have avoided a nap in the slurry pit courtesy of one of those dogs owners.

Oh be careful there Gary with that dog being so close,  as all them Ewes will abort and then drop dead with a heart attack 😂 FFS what a load of shit people talk, by the law of averages there should be no sheep left in the UK by now and i for one must be responsible for the death of 1000s of sheep as my dogs are with me where ever we are working  and 99% of the time we are up in them there hills working amongst different livestock all the time,

That is the problem the sheer gulf between country folk and the majority   of numtpies that now live in the country and think it is nothing more than a playground.

Althou i think it is the other way round, many folk that live in the country have no idea how it works or the damage free running dogs cause.

Even in a wood, u don't see many ground nesting birds anywhere near a public footpath.

U wouldn't dream of leting ur dogs run lose or walking throu an active building site  ye they treat fields like a playground, the same gooes for forestry sites how often do folk ignore all signs even when heavy machines are actually working and ther eis a clear danger

I think the lad on the thread is just full of it, i seriously doubt he has done wot he claims and is just bigging himself up.

He certainly doesnae know much about sheep

I honestly don't know how english farms cope with the silly RoW system which is completely out dated.

I bet some farms on the edge of 2 small villages say with a rural kirk and a big estate house the other direction would  hardly have any fields without a RoW in them.

The whole system was set up when everyone who lived in the country actually worked in the countryside and understood it and needed to walk to local shop, school, kirk etc.

That is not the case nowadays plus add in the massive population increases or folk travelling in to use footpaths elsewhere.

Jeeeeeez!

BBC news at 6 + Panarama program (presumably on later) featuring dairy cruelty...

Doesn’t make for easy watching.

They’ve just said “milk is far too cheap” and it absolutely is.

I love my cheese / cream / milk etc, but I abhor modern diary practice.

Most of us drink cow’s milk, but are we paying enough for it? Panorama investigates the dairy industry to find...
