Apologies if this has been covered previously....

What are people using as a second line? Is it practical to use SRT and a trailing back up line with e.g. a Petzl Asap or ISC Rocker?

Or are people using something more like 2 x SRT systems with the load shared equally between the two?

Really quiet thread this.

I was hoping for a few more bites from H&S Nazis before I revealed that I now climb on 3 lines at all times now (+ lanyard for cutting, obvs).

3 is safer than 2, right?

Especially on single stem connies, gotta spread that load!

I get to charge the customer a lot more as well, which is nice.

I’m not an idiot.

I only climb trees that I’ve dismantled using a MEWP (as per industry best practice).

I always use two MEWPS, though, because it’s safer?

I attended a 2 ropes training session recently and they demonstrated various setups 2x mrt 2x srt and mixed. No one used an ASAP or backup type line. Some setups looked a right pita, although others were fine.
I spoke with a guy from treemagineers and he said felt the ASAP wasn't suitable for treework.
I too have found Joe's custom system the most user friendly!
BTW i am trying to use 2 ropes when suitable/helpful!
