its nails as much as weight that decided it for me.

paslode stainless nails box of 1100+gas is £100.

coil nails for the air nailer 14000 nails is £262 or £1000 cheaper than using the same amount of pas nails.

Cost wise the coil nailers win hands down for the fixings

You have no idea what I have in my shed and workshop Leslie.

Feather boarding, yeh, might be ok for that. And when the op wants to put up something more substantial?

I sold the Paslodes, outdated these days.

air nail gun all day. coil of nails not silly strips  and you wont have arms like popeye using the horrible electric guns.

I use the dewalt 54v cordless compressor and a tacwise coil nailer.

Description Mini in size but not in power… The Tacwise 2.1 Conical Mini Coil Nailer is an air-powered tool that drives...

the paslode has its place but thats not near fencing.
How do you find the cordless compressor, I keep looking at the metabo one, but not sure how long the batteries would last, and don't know anyone else who has one. Cheers.

Bought a paslode when they first came over here struggled with it for a few years till working on a sound fence along side a12, the other contractor made me look stupid he had air coil and straight nailers 50 MM to 150mm he had full head nails,he was twice my speed, long airlines only moved compressor three times a day the air nailer were quicker far more powerful lighter and didn’t need servicing they also worked in the pouring rain and you didn’t have to walk around with gas canisters in your pants to keep then warm enough to work.

The old paslode ones were alright but the new Milwaukee ones are a big improvement in every area. You don't need any gas and they'll do 90mm nails as fast as you can pull the trigger (or use bump fire). I was a bit dubious before getting one but we used it to make wooden crates last week and it's very impressive.

I'm just annoyed Milwaukee don't do fencing staple guns...

I got the dewalt. Don't do enough fencing to justify a second. I pay an awful lot less than £100 for 1100 stainless nails, last lot I bought was £30 for 1100 90mm without gas.
The 51mm are cheaper again so price is comparable to your coil nails.
Dewalt needs no more maintenance than a coil nailer either.
If I was firing nails all day id probably get a coil but id also be incredibly bored. So the dewalt does me fine. Way easier on a roof than a coil and air line. Good tool imo.
Would never consider a gas gun again and I've had a few over the years

Dewalt coil battery nailer for feather boards, think it’s advertised as a roofing nailer over here, great for cladding too.
Dewalt 1st fix fit 59-90mm nails.

Keep a nail pouch on your belt with some spare racks in, super easy to reload then.
Workmate just got the milwaukee 1st and by god it’s way heavier than my Dewalt

very pleased with it, done a lot of featheredge with it probably 1000m and as long as you have 2 flexvolt batteries to keep 1 on charge while one is used it will go non stop at max pressure.

I first saw them when the underfloor heating guys used one to pressure test the loops, with cables on site really being a no no now they are very handy.
