But back to defenders, chip capacity and that. It's not so much weight - it's volume. The defender or a lux or something can't take the volume like a light commercial. By quite a bit, i reckon.
 

I bet you would find its weight over volume. I.e you would exceed the weight before you ran out of space. This lot probably weighed about 5 tonnes all in with the van, off-road ofcourse

How much is a low (for year) mileage (108,235) 2000 3.5ton TD5 worth?

We would consider selling ours for the right price. We have have owned it since 2011, it probably does less than 3000 miles a year, but serviced annually, normally at a Landrover specialist. 

It has never caused us much trouble, little bits and pieces, one of the diffs locked up a few years back and had to be replaced.

We obviously don't use it much goes out towing the grinder or when we have to cross a park.

They do age well. first two pictures were taken in 2012 last one this morning..

I thought that there was an allowance for a canopy on 4x4 pick up trucks? Maybe that is the missing 120kgs?

Maybe, I just went off the data sheet as I thought they were 3500. More googling says they are (I don't know where my manual is as it must have the proper number in there). 

 

I'd still be interested to see an an arb converted double cab tipper on a weighbridge
