Maybe worth bearing in mind though - when somebody asks somebody else to do something they themself can’t do, then sets about telling the person that can do it how long it’ll take, how to do it and how much it should cost, don’t be surprised if the price is significantly inflated.

As soon as the client tells me how long it should take or that its not a big job I normally don't bother even quoting at that point.

I mentioned nothing of your quote nor do l really care, the guy was given prices at approx 2k by someone to fell, which he thought seemed a lot. Hope you get the job and crack on, no need to shoot your mouth off about it

 

Fell, remove, grind from the one image i have maybe £1000+ Vat, l wouldnt commit to that before I get slated some more, either way its nothing major to do in my opinion, the guy can get some quotes and make his own choice

We have a few clients that will book a climber,two groundies, truck and chipper for the day rather than get us to quote for a job. Perhaps thats the way the OP should go, he would get change out of 1k

I think this is where the London issue comes in. You could have a climber, 2 groundies, truck and chipper stuck on the north circular for 2 hrs

So you'd put 600 on a sub 6 inch easy fell but only 400 more for a much worse tree with a big grind and only access for a small grinder... OK, will stop shooting my mouth off now 😂

Looks s***, high chance its full of metal,crap access, 2 grand with grind and vat included doesn't sound to bad especially in London. Trunk looks massive lower down?

LEZ, congestion, parking issues, potential for theft from vehicle, care in the community, white privilege, demo's, police stop & search, random violence - all relevant elements of an urban job I should imagine.
