Very kind of you to worry about me Les!

My nephew (25) is being trained up to replace me, but I still do the more technical/risky stuff.

Tbh, it’s not really a problem, the hard stuff like hedge reductions I either turn down or put a silly price on.

They have only got the 57hp petrol engine on offer here in France

Thats a fair bit of extra poke compared to the 45hp v1505 turbo diesel they had beforehand.

looks a fair spec, 4 cylinder water-cooled and the Kubota name tag should be good for longevity, I like that idea more than a B&S twin.I wonder if the fuel comparison will be similar to a diesel fiesta and a petrol one? Say about 30% more. Biggest difference will be the tax on the fuel in UK.

We are using the same engine in our 200 and the newer 205 units. I used to be agin petrol but petrol and the newer Tier 5 diesels are better for the environment and that is the consideration going forwards. Costcand performance are to be considered as a secondary issue that we have to expect.

What is the typical price difference between machines with the 50hp deezle and 57hp petrol?

The EVO 205 57hp petrol isn't in the price book yet. The Arborist 200 is still available to order with the 57hp engine. Not really comparing apples with apples as its two different machines, but the Tier 5 EVO 205D is 2k more than the Arb 200 petrol.
