Yes that’s what I was thinking, take a few pics and send to the TO, and say my neighbour is not happy, what are my options, which will  probably mean money that I’ve not really got. 😉

or words to that effect.👍

Signing off as had a big day at school, renovating a money pit and now a famous preserved ancient oak has parted this mortal coil and landed in my poor old neighbours garden... I have opened a bottle... am googling  DIY 'tree sculpture with a chainsaw" so thanks again for the advice all.

😂 how dull would it be if we restricted ourselves solely to the 'practical' rather than the 'theoretical' and 'fanciful' realms Mick?

If you were Dr Emmet Brown and able to harness the necessary 1.21 gigawatts, you could of course go back in time to the point where the tree had become 'dangerous' and have had it removed without any TPO concerns.  Not sure if there's any case precedent on that though.

Would you go to 30 minutes before it fell over and just fell it or would you go 5 days before and put in a 5 day notice?

How would you demonstrate the impending danger?

Nobody was hurt so could you even cite “danger” as a justification?

Depends on whether the LPA would take my knowledge of the future at face value I guess
