Another vote for tongs, save your back and don't aggravate my tennis elbow like the pickeroon does.

I've the Husky ones very good, can't imagine what you would have to do to break them so should last for years. Pickeroons blunt and break.

I bought a pair of "Bison" tongs - I'd hurt the ligaments/tendons in my wrist from grabbing logs before and these allow me to move much larger logs by hand than I otherwise would do. Superb tools, well worth the money

Thought I'd follow up what I did as a result of this post .... bought some of the Husky tongs as they'd pick up larger logs than most of the others and finally got to give them a proper try over the weekend and what a great piece of kit.

Cheers for everyone's inout and help!

I made a recent post about how useful the Woodchuck pickaroon from the US is, only problem with tongs is constant bending over - if you want to save your spine that tool is worth buying. Digs in well and doesn't appear to blunt, mine certainly didn't break, despite being made of alloy. Must buy another, mine went missing

I have 1 pair of stihl tongs, always use them, think they are great for general log lifting and for dragging logs into the processor if needed.  These have lasted years and not tried others.  Carnt fault them just myself, still dont have the knack of releasing them easily as would like.
