Yeah, David Orange was taking down a large dead Elm, knocked off a large limb, it hit the deck and out flew a swarm of anger bees, the headed straight back to where the limb and the hive had been.

 

His rope was a fair bit too short, he prussiced off the end, hit the ground running, fortunately he was working in the grounds of a hospital, ran straight in. Think he had around 200 stings, would have been in really trouble if not treated so swiftly.

Agreed Mick, however sometimes people only learn when presented with hard and brutal evidence. 
 

Experience taught me & I use a rope that allows me to hit the ground for the same reason Dave

But can and do, better to be in a position to get yourself to safety ASAP, IMO.

Guy in the next village to me got attacked by Asian hornets, hundreds of stings, spent weeks in hospital, lost his sight for a while.
