The problem I see with a winch (or pulleys/ropes like I had been using) is that the chipper only has a single axle so it actually needs supported as it goes up the ramps. A full width ramp/tailgate is a different kettle of fish but I think to work properly you'd need a jockey wheel on the chipper (like some of the Jo Beau mini chippers)

I winch my MDL up on to my trailer . I use two steel ramps and a shorter piece of 6"x1" in-between them. Works fine. :thumbup1:

Thanks mate, does anyone on here change there cs100 blades themselves or do you guys send them off to be changed and is it hard work to do it yourself or quite easy.

It's a relatively straightforward job and I imagine most owners would do this themselves....blade bolt torque is important though and is 28 Nm.....:001_smile:

Hi new to the forum, I have a Gts1300 with 13hp engine, it does what I need so far. Gave it a service today and took blades out. Can anyone advise if these are worth trying to sharpen or just switch to other side once they stop pulling through?

Thanks

Turn them around, I have the same Machine for over 2 year's and they look battered! Small machine needs to be kept tip top .

New ones are around the £120 mark so I would get a new set and then get old set sharpened.

Fitting a tachometer such as 'tiny tach' helps servicing instead of relying on judgement alone.

I found blade changes to be between 20-30 hours and only once got to 40.

It's still pulling and chipping well, I've got a load to get through and will turn them over. My local spot charges £200 for a pair! I think I'll start shopping round elsewhere.
