You cannot get the 35hp Kubota 1505 engine Tier 5 compliant. To get under the radar, it has to be under 25hp and to do that, it is run with a lower max rpm range. Hence the different noise and less power. We use the same in our Evo 165 and we both use the 37hp Vanguard petrol too. In theory you could break the seal and wind up the engine rpm to pre Tier 5 settings and swap pulleys/belts but it would absolutely void any warranty and possibly lead to litigation as you have jeopardised Kubotas status as a tier 5 supplier and they may strangle the supply of engines going forwards! I got lambasted last time this subject came up but I have to stand by the official line and also point out that these changes are in place for a better environment and we should all embrace these changes for the benefits of future generations....

You are confusing burning fossil fuels and increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere with burning fossil fuels in an efficient engine that emits more particulates, which are damaging to health, than a less efficient engine.

Looking at purchasing a new chipper and I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on how the new 230DHB chippers perform.  My concern is that they are only 25HP as opposed to the old 35hp machines ?

Any help greatly appreciated

why not look at the Greenmech Evo165,  they are currently offering a limited edition 45hp kubota diesel version,  this will blow the older and later TW230DHB out of the water.

Pete, we have been through all, this before. We as the end user can do what we like to our machines. Kubota are not going to stop selling you engines, because one of us has returned the engine back to the proper settings that it should be on before all, this nonsense.

The machines ran perfectly well on 35hp, so returning them back to 35hp from 25 is hardly going to cause anything to blow up.

It's a bit like re mapping a pick up. If it's done within parameters, not an issue.
