Builders bags

Hi

 

Does anyone have any recommendations for tough, quality builders bags? Preferably with a double lined bottom? Will be used for putting green waste in and dragging through gardens and across concrete so needs to be fairly durable.

We just use cheap and cheerful eBay ones, they come in at 60p ish each from memory if you buy a box full (once a year purchase for us) They see last just as well as the more expensive ones (on a trips per £ spent). once you drag any bag over concrete it’s bottom will go quickly regardless of how good it is.

I have a local builder who uses a bit of my yard. He pays me with once used dumpy bags rather than money. Could you offer a "disposal service" to any local small building firms?

Absolutely correct. The fastest way to wreck bags is to do just that. I don't know of any with reinforced bottoms, but would be interested to know if they do exist.

Tudor environmental do reinforced bags but they not the massive bags they the smaller ones.they last for ages.

ive not done it yet but often though about glueing or some other way to attach some rubber to the bottom.  Ideally the kind of rubber they use for stump grinder guards.

Then it would last forever!

No single builders/ dumpy bag will last long being dragged far, especially across concrete, tarmac etc. If you don’t have a supply of once used bags get an arb trolley and carry it.

What about barrow bags (they are about the size of a wheelie bin) and a sack truck

Or you could maybe have some sort of track barrow/power barrow

Haecksler trolley have little rods in the end of arms. We use those 1m3 bags whit that and it keeps the nicely open when the bag hangs from those rods.

Local spotted page, ask once a month and i get 15 or so from around my village and the two next to it. befriend a couple of builders, they get loads of the things and they end up in skips.
