Looking at possibly getting my first proper chipper which will be a big step for me.

So I am currently looking at a Timberwolf TW230 or a Greenmech Arb130 or Arb150 (all options will be the road tow versions).

I would be interested in people’s options who have used both brands of the chippers I am looking at or if you just run one of them.

I would like to hear about ease of use, ease of access when there is an issue, reliability, build quality, and general opinions good or bad.

Might be difficult at the moment, but if/when all this nonsense blows through - and it will - see if you can arrange a factory visit to GreenMech.

A gang of us did one a while back and it was EXCEPTIONAL!

A company that welcomes you into the very heart of their manufacturing process is a company that is rightly proud of its product.

I think there might be a “Greenmech factory visit” thread from a while back. Worth a look!

Theres also a thread named something like “United colours of Greenmech” also well worth a read.

( @PeteB - might look in on the thread?)

Greenmech 150p or 165p Evo if your budget allows but then 130p is a fab first Chipper and will do everything you need.things are a bit slow as you can imagine but if you put your order in now it will probably take 2/3 may be 4 months..I have a 165p Evo on oreder and it’s been  a couple of months now but am not in to much of an hurry..are you doing finance or buying?

I would have a look at the Forst ST6 petrol, I have had that and the TW230 and the Forst is a pukka machine. They did have a paintwork issue but that's been sorted with a new paint process apparently. Best to try one on a demo.

Oh joy, Another thread on who's chipper is the best!

For me, look at the greenmech, especially the evo.

Whilst timberwolf may be a good make, it appears that greenmech are more forthcoming on here with answers to problems and  technical questions , timberwolf just tell you to ring them.

I don't really have an iron in the fire, but I can see already that Arb130 isn't really comparable to TW230, equivalent machine would be TW160 (updated 125).

The smaller machines are cheaper, lighter, easier to push round, and chip a little bit slower. Lots of people start with them.
