Except to say that it's a very long time since any independent scientist had a voice.....they're now known as  conspiracists.

Is there such a thing as an independent scientist ?...after all they mostly work for the massive conscienceless corporations that, to me, are fecking this world

You cannot have a biased scientist , as all work is evidence based, peer reviewed, etc. Any scientist not using correct methods or postulating error will not be a scientist. Or certainly not get far. Error is the key here. You publish a paper and indicate the margins of error. If small and within a limit that proves the result , yr there. It's beyond most of the Public to get this, but then people want answers NOW , which ain't scientific.  K

In an ideal world maybe. But we don’t live in an ideal world....

I can think of many instances where bias runs alongside science.
‘Scientism’ - the new religion - I think of people like Dawkins and Krauss.... plenty of bias going on there.

@TIMON  , it's the nature of the beast,  anyone can be a scientist - but you WILL have yr evidence n theories examined.  Just read DR Rowe work on early radar and scientific 'intelligence' at which he proved himself outstandingly good. 'But' some people did not accept it at the time , Churchill would not have a word said against him.   K

I totally agree with you that that's the way it should be, but in practice I don't think so....Far too much money involved.

Half the world addicted to pain killers and the other half on anti deps all approved  by

' science '....  my ass !!

So GSK, Monsanto etc have our's and the planet's best interests at heart.....I don't think so, 'make em sick and keep em sick' is their motto and they've been doing it for a very long time, so fecking long that it's now the accepted norm....There's trillions of $$$  at stake and I'm just super glad that up to now I've avoided their shit.....ffs look at the state of the younger generations , they're completely f-cked up.      imo,

I am talking about actual science. The science that put us on the moon and split the atom. Vague or opinionated evidence cannot do that. The numbers HAVE to add up. Or failure occurs. What gets talked abt here is opinion or guess work ( which sometimes has to do)  but jobs, lives and hospitals are on the line because of it.  K

I agree with you on that... it's either accurate or it's not fit for purpose, that's essentially engineering, I'm an engineer and accuracy is paramount, therefore this is why I'm so fed up with this dumbed down lowest common denominator society that is today's world.

The science your quoting there is mechanical and happened long before these corporate criminals got a foothold to be as invasive as they have become.

Just as an example... It's forty years this year since during the Reagan administration Donald Rumsfeld nobbled a panel of scientists who repeatedly refused to allow the artificial sweetener Aspartane into the food chain as it was 400 times sweeter than sugar and made holes in the brains of the rats that they tested it on.....

Nobody was fat back then and I don't remember them being so feckin stupid either.

Hey, I'm not having a go at you and I enjoy reading your Input... all the best.

Building society, pet shop yesterday & builders merchants today, distancing is still being practiced but the mask wearing is from what I can see being resisted and rightly so.

I've just been away around the Staffordshire/Derbyshire Moorlands, virtually no one wearing a face covering in those areas. Stoke, Liverpool, Manchester City centres most everyone is wearing a covering.

Back to Suffolk today after looking in on two jobs in Cambridgeshire, next to no folk wearing a face covering.

Strange times.

So your blaming the hospital for your self confessed bullshit?

No, when one of my longest standing mates was on his death bed I'd have told the 'hospital' anything they wanted to hear to get in there. Don't like it?,  that's your choice.

I wasn't blaming anyone, telling it how it was more like.

We didn't have face coverings, neither did the NHS staff. We could blame each other for spreading Covid-19 but I WAS going to see my mate.
