These things are good if they will fit down the hole, be warned tool station sell 2 sets but really it’s 1 full set in 2 packs and Sod’s law says which ever set you get you will need the other (I’ve got both for that reason ? )

Securely grips and removes stubborn nuts and bolts. Reverse spiral flutes bite down for maximum gripping power. 3/8” square drive for use with hand ratchets, impact wrenches and air...

Edit: This is the other half of set, hey all fit in the box from first set

Unique design that securely grips and removes stubborn nuts and bolts. Reverse spiral flutes bite down for maximum gripping power. High quality carbon steel ensures longer life...

I've used these a fair bit. They are great tools.

It is usually a case of smacking in the next size Allen, a slightly larger AF Allen or a suitable torx bit. You could do this and try a rattle gun on it for the most undoing impact. A flat screwdriver may also do it otherwise as someone earlier said, cut around the bolt and buy a new cover.

If all else fails, drill the head off, remove the cover and then cut a slot in it, heat the fecker up and undo it with a screwdriver......there is always a way:thumbup:

BINGO! - Torx bit, medium hammer persuasion, small ratchet, lots of downward pressure. So, got the muffler off & as suspected carbon build up outside exhaust port explained lack of oomph. Cleaned off & now revving right up. Love that exhaust crack you get when things are clean.

Thanks a lot folks - getting support here always gives me a second wind to have another go at my maintenance / repairs.

Glad you got it out as to the "lots of downward pressure" I have found the old fashioned impact drivers are useful to give the downward force plus the torque impulse simultaneously for future reference
