I was to attend a site induction which will now take place via the wonder of technology which I am looking forward to.

Strange that Paul, I wonder why we, as an industry, are so slow to change from meeting others over a desk, on a site etc. Makes no sense but it's pretty regular for me to meet an architect, structural engineer, demo lads, arb contractor, project manager, QS and geologist/site remediation specialist (plus LA planning bods and TOs)

99% of the time some sort of video conference would be much more efficient, cheaper and environmentally friendly. Maybe the truth is that everyone likes an excuse to get out of the office and push off home early straight from the meeting to instigate useful change?

Edit, many happy returns for Sunday.

I like that photo, really tranquil.

Yeah starting to effect work now,

my climber dosent want to come to work now (his wife won't let him). I'm happy to carry on as normal.

Got a few tree jobs that I could of done, but not on my own (ain't going to climb solo).

I have got a 50 quid hedge to do  and 12 tons of ash to split so will be busy next week.  Then just hit the beach surfing with the kids I suppose.

Honestly I think this is going to last months not weeks

The only good thing is I'm on interest only mortgage and now is £90 pr month.

Will start to worry in couple weeks but not now.

If the UK does go on full lock down, Otter, you had better make the most of the beach with the kids. You'll be inside your property until the situation is resolved. English bloke in the next village was pulled by a passing Gendarmerie patrol two days ago. He had his two spaniel out for a walk. Given a bollocking as he didn't have the statement in his hand to say why he was out. Luckily he didn't get the €138 fine. Saw a couple of people walking past my house yesterday as though everything was great. Pissed me right off as I'm confined for the foreseeable future. My wife, who shops everyday, hasn't left the house since last Saturday. Luckily we've plenty of frozen grub, she's going out to do a big shop today.

Its amazing how the earth is bouncing back already from the global shut-down. Nothing, nothing man can do will solve the pollution we're causing. I'll get a lot of stick for this Im sure but we need a  mass cull of humans, we're the virus.

Yep I’ve had several clients cancel planned work, but I’m lucky that We’ve got a highways job to do on the A19, 1 kilometre of trees to fell to allow for rebuilding of a flood damage causeway. I hope you all get through these bad times.

These are certainly troubling times and all we can do is come together to offer support for each other until it is over - which it will be at some point. However, the financial pain of government bailouts will probably be felt for decades to come, especially so soon after the 2008 financial crisis. The human race is being tested!
