Very good johnsond. Yes, futility does spring to mind when arguing politics on a wood forum, that doesn’t usually bother you though, does it?

Morning Mull,

Hows the head?.

No not pissed off why would I be ?? I’m married to a jock bird and know she can occasionally talk shite when drunk ( mind you not with the regularity you achieve on fri/sat nights )

Yeah as you seem to want to keep mentioning it is indeed a wood forum but as is the norm there are parts of it utilised to discuss other subjects ie Covid in this case. Anyway I’ve a load of milling to be getting on with today so I’ll leave you to it. ADCC23A7-732A-486A-8AF7-2EC2CFD45B74.thumb.jpeg.347ae3cbae562728edea6743e465c778.jpeg

Well not right now obviously as Im off-shore. But sometimes when discussions veer off the way they are its better to make your point face to face to avoid any confusion. :)

I would set up a politics section so they can fight it out in there. Seems to be some bitter folk who just want an argument all the time. One thing I learned early in life is that no one wins an argument because they both have different mindsets. 😉

Maybe it's time to consider a new approach in your "discussions". A touch more empathy, compassion and diplomacy for instance. Something is clearly not working if you have to resort to physical violence on top of verbal assault.

It does seem pretty consistent that you get involved in a row about something (often start the row as well if we're honest about it!), get increasingly wound up/insulting to the other person, then if you're still not winning, offer to meet them outside/down South/ wherever for a fight if they're happy to "say the same things to your face".

Consistent? I'll assume you'll be able to provide examples? Ive not offered such a thing in the past nor have I done so now. That's simply your tale on it. :)

So sorry Andy, I must be completely misinterpreting what you're saying. Now I see that when you're challenging someone to "say that to my face" (or similar) it isn't really meant to come across as threatening, or intimidating, or as I previously thought challenging them to a fight if they say the same thing in person to your face.

From this statement I clearly see that all you're really saying is that you'd like to have a longer discussion about the topic in person as you really feel that the points could be better conveyed by both parties in a verbal discussion in person, as opposed to on a forum such as this. When you've asked them to suggest a time and place (or words to similar effect), you're at that point extremely passionate about arranging the meet up for a longer discussion.

Sorry again for misinterpreting your words and making defamatory statements about your intentions without any real evidence that could be submitted in a court of law!😜
