I take it they're the same as 'middlings' - the bits that are much smaller than a log but bigger than kindling.  Very useful.

IKEA blue tote here too, doubled up as it's heavy when full of Oak and I found one had a poorly stitched handle.  They used to cost about 30 pence each

We use one of the green recycling bags then transfer to a wicker basket next to the log burner. Cost nothing and very strong

As for log carriers, I have an old plastic laundry box thing that has served me faithfully for 10 or more years. Can put it down without it collapsing, throw logs into it etc. and it's easy to carry, keeps the mess in, can be put down on wet grass etc.

I got bored of humping bags of logs from my store to the stove.  I put too many in the log bag, bashed doors/walls etc plus hurt my back.  Now I use a hard supermarket type basket that has wheels, a handle & a telescopic handle.  Just load, wheel it next to the fire, simples.

That's a great idea for all the reason's you've mentioned ... only downside I can see is if the wheels get wet / muddy outside I have to go across a white carpet to get to the stove but could carry it the last bit.

 

Where did you get it from or is that a daft question and I should be loitering outside my local Nisa waiting to pounce if someone leaves one outside ? ... that said the amount of beer money I've spent in there over the years I'm sure I've earnt one from loyalty points ?

I had one but the point already made about muddy wheels meant I didn't really get on with it.... And when the lounge floor got oak parquet I felt it would mark that so it's not used.  IKEA tote bags now and......'steeeerraaaaiiin!' when I inevitably over fill them.

 

I have seen on US websites a cross between a small firewood rack and a sack barrow with large soft wheels.  Looks good but again not if you are crossing mud.
