You could do that for sure, I just think the padding makes it comfier than having the plastic sheath digging into your leg.

Not everyone gets on with them, but I wouldn’t be without mine.

The price isn’t much of a factor as they last for years if you stick the straps together when not in use.

They look cool in the shop as well.

shhh, am i the only one thinking how pointless this thing is? twenty something quid for basically a couple of bits of velcro strapping?

zubat even has loops for straps to go through.

yes its a pain in the arse when my zubat dangles away from me clipped to the harness but ill get over it.

It’s £20!! 😂

I had my saw mounted to my leg way before the sapwod was invented. I riveted luggage straps to the silky sheath. It worked but not as good as the sawpod.

I've got a Tsurgi and that has the straps on the scabbard so I just use those. I took the straps off a Sawpod to do that. 20 quid is fine IMO, I'd only spend it on sweets otherwise

I haven’t used a silky since they started making decent light weight saws...

Anyone still using a Silky is a bit of a mincer these days.

And they say the education system in this country is failing. 😄

Mate, I'm a tree cutter. The education system failed me a long time ago!

Forgive me for building an argument based on little more than semantics, but it might be less of a case of the education system failing you, and more a case you failing in it.

I honestly don't think I've heard anyone use the term 'mincer' since I was about 14.
