CSCS card for tree work?

Hi folks,

I've been asked twice in the space of this week by employers/clients if I have a CSCS card. Which I don't.

I have been on the CSCS website and done their "card finder" to try and see which one I should be applying for, but searching for any type of arb/chainsaw job title says I now need a LISS card, not CSCS. Is this correct or is there another way of obtaining CSCS, or are people just using outdated terms and they actually want me to have LISS. I have never worked on sites before so the whole card scheme thing is alien to me.

Simon, I contacted BALI at the back end of last year and they said I needed the Blue LISS card (skilled operator), although I don't think there's any difference between that and the labourer card, also as crazy as it sounds they said if I held any academic qualifications (NVQ/SVQ/Diploma at Level 3 or above ) I could apply for the Gold supervisors card, but as I'd never worked on a building site before I said "thanks, but no thanks" and even though I've had it for a while now, I've not had a job that needed it.
