I'm only 22 work 40 hours a week full time employed then Im also self employed there's some weeks I do 14 hours a day everyday so not all youths are lazy I spent more time kicked out of secondary school than what I was in just so I could go to work and cut gardens to make a wage then left school went to colledge as a mechanic got a apprentiship after about 6 - 8 weeks on my apprentiship I left colledge and was a full time tyre fitter for 2 years left there after me and the boss had a fight then got a job as a drain technician patching and lining drains for alphajet drain services (metrorod) left there to go on new build sites as a ground worker then went self employed but I can't always get my own work on so that's why I've got a full time job so I can pay for my house and council tax so not all youths are bone idle and lazy ?

Does not seem like you can hold a job down though, nor stick to one trade and gain any kind of qualifications. It will bite you in the ass later.

I think as always, the better staff are already occupied.

I have struggled this year to find a helper,my turnover is about half of last years as a result. The audacity of some of the applicants is frankly staggering,I include a flat with bills included in the deal, one guy was willing to come over, maybe if I bought him a campervan for him to travel about in on his off days!

every one moans about young lazy youths etc, are there not people in their 30,s 40,s with a bit of experience and a better more steady work ethic around???
might have to  pay them a bit more but might be worth it as apposed to continually looking for and changing staff.

When I ask for £150 a day grounding most employers laugh.
Tell me they can get groundies for £50-£80 a day.
It's a bit of an arsehole filter now.
But I have found firms up and down the country who do serious work and pay properly.
Just takes a while to find them.

If your turnover is half of what it could be due to not having a helper then surely paying a helper an extra 100-200,000nok would seem like good business sense if it got you back to what you should be bringing in? Or are the margins just too tight?
