Mini cranes:

Has anyone used one? We have an oak that has fallen onto a small island.

I estimate the tree was 15m tall with a 100cm DBH so  probably 4.5 tons?

I know we won't be able to lift the whole tree, but we can get on the island and strip it down.

Access is tight and there are walls making up the banks that have to be protected on both the island and mainland so dragging out is not really an option.

The distance between the island and the mainland is only about 3m.

the ground conditions are pretty soft.

Haven't used one myself, but I've dealt with few of them over the years.

Are you looking at buying one, or hiring one with an operator for this job? For either option, I have clients near enough to you that could give you a hand.

Just hire with operator
