There’s plenty of them, at 56 this year I’m closer to leaving middle age than approaching it.

 

Giving less of a toss about how you smell is one.

... and once you start smelling of your own urine and not able give a toss, you know you have passed through middle age!

At 46 the UN diplomat style tolerance of annoyance has now been replaced with Frank doberman on a bad day. 

And an appreciation of a good cheese ?

I wouldn’t worry too much just yet mate.

As @Mick Dempsey will confirm, it’s when you DON’T get up for the 2am slash that the bother starts....
