Today's milling

They are all being sold individually, but I suspect mainly they will become dining tables.  And if any of my customers simply screw on tripod legs to each corner the slab will self-destruct on my command.

Got the mill out for the first time in many months. Dropped a fairly big dead ash last week. Milling it up now. A nice straight 40 feet to mill up.

I thought I'd have a go at some silver birch that's been felled for about 3 years now. Might have been rotten but there was only one way to find out. Maybe 5 but probably 4 boards out of it. Milled quite thin (1.5") not sure what I'm going to do with them though.....

Very nice.  Why more people don't mill Birch and Alder I have no idea.  Such a waste.

Nice, a friend of mine used lightly spalted birch as centres for doors in his kitchen units. Looks really good, especially with the cedar framing as a contrast. Might be able find a picture somewhere..

It’s about 7 miles South of Leighton Buzzard along B440.

We’ll get the top wood cleared then see what it looks like, may be too far gone.
