Muppet look at the quality very poor

Lot of Oak down your way Les, not so easy to find up in this neck of the woods bud.
I was lucky and got hold of some decent enough stuff the other day. No problem shifting it at all up here Les if I wanted too.

Decent day for milling, apart from the strong wind blowing dust into the eyes

Larch cladding order halfway finished

That’s decent going for a  day, it’s always the same with the wind eh 🤷‍♂️. What do you use for the blade lube when doing Larch ??.

Lidl's finest! W5 apple scented washing up liquid at £49p/bottle.  1/4 bottle in 20litres water.  Keeps the blades and rollers clear of resin.

Ok but the boards are quite a lot larger and in terms of quality, what are you referring to? I’m only asking, not challenging. emoji106.png

Sorry didn’t see they where 10ft.

like anything need to find a sale. I was happy for my 120 a piece as I only paid 40 for the log.

if rather take less money for them than having to home them somewhere until they do sell. Get on Facebook and see what’s selling locally

That's a good job if you got that lot sold. I suppose I don't have to worry about storing as we have space to store and the trees are all from the site I work on so don't have to get logs in, just mill up what comes down. Though If I could get my hands on some nice cherry and some walnut I would be fine with that. :thumbup1:

What would you sell a slab of this oak for, 10’ long x 40-44” wide by 3’ thick, green.

£150

Quality is low. First length looks good but log has been left too long for high quality boards. Large knots and twisted grain as it approaches the crown.

This will likely cause excessive movement as they dry.

Better to sell now why they look good than when they are bendy and twisted in a year.
