You can get this finish with Danish oil if you've sanded well and done the final coat of Danish Oil with a Green Scotchbrite.

Nice. I suppose there is always the old french polish (shellac) option too.

True, I just really like Danish Oil.  Leaves a hard film and is child and food safe.

Nope, sanded to 80 grit only and finished with screwfix own brand clear decking oil.
