Unexpected rigging issue

So yesterday we were rigging some medium sized branches off a large pine,

When the rigging rope slid into a tool carabiner on the climbers belt.

Couldn't unclip as awkward position.

Had to lower the branch with the climber on the rope.

No danger but could have been very different outcome with a bigger piece.

Thought I'd share this as a warning for non 3way carabiners.

Stay safe.

Good point rough ...Why I have said I won’t have any thing other than plastic petzl caritool amongst my climbing krabs [emoji1303] .. although thinking about it I have a few mini DMMs for ascenders I don’t think they are capable of picking up a rigging rope especially where they are stored too.

Those carry tools can get you into bother, I clipped my side strop into 1 when I first started using them, it was on a big sycamore stem and I was going by feel as I couldn’t see properly as I was wearing a water proof jacket.  Caught it just in time before I undid my climbing line.  Had it caught on phone lines and branches before wrestling through conifers.  Makes me mad ?

I have the gate removed bill and it makes a great saw hook , proper quick draw with the saw [emoji38]
Occasionally it gets caught but If you know it’s there and expecting it it no bother.
If it gets seriously caught like what rough experienced it just snaps.

Isn't this more a work positioning issue, rather than anything else?
